Report: Girls doing well in foster care after kidnapping, mom's death The man charged in their kidnapping, Terry Miles, was being held Wednesday in federal custody in Colorado. Police have said he is a person of interest in the killing of the girls' mother, 44-year-old Tonya Bates. "We are still investigating the homicide," said Nick Olivier, a Round Rock police spokesman.

Colorado Supreme Court to review appeals court's decision on drug dogs, pot and police searches DENVER – The Colorado Supreme Court will review a 2017 decision by the state Court of Appeals that said law enforcement officers can't only use the alert of a drug-sniffing dog as probable cause to search a person's vehicle. The full court will hear the petition for the writ of certiorari later this year.
